Charity fundraising sportsman’s dinner in support of Headway - the brain injury association

Date: Thursday 6th July 2017
Location: Preston North End FC, Sir Tom Finney Way, Preston, PR1 6RU

You are invited to spend an evening with Peter Ridsdale in aid of Headway – the brain injury association.

A highly colourful character in English football, Peter was chairman of Leeds United during one of the most successful yet turbulent periods in the club's history. He later spent five years as Chairman of Cardiff City FC leading them from the brink of bankruptcy towards the funding and building of their new stadium, reaching their first FA Cup Final (2008) since 1927 and the Championship play off final in 2010. Peter left having sold the Club to its current owner Vincent Tan. Five years ago Peter joined Preston North End, one of the founder members of the original Football League in 1888 whose most notable players include Sir Tom Finney, Bill Shankly and Tommy Docherty to name but a few.

Peter will be appearing at a question and answer session to give a forthright view on his career in football and some of the biggest issues affecting the game today.

There will also be guest appearance from Jack Rutter; captain of Great Britain's Paralympic football team – a brain injury survivor - who will be speaking on behalf of Headway. Jack was denied a career in the professional game after suffering brain damage in a tragic incident in 2009, but the way he has dealt with the setback is a truly inspirational story.

There will be a drinks reception followed by a three-course meal, with tickets priced at £65-a-head (tables of 10)
